THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON FAMILY AND CONSUMER ISSUES (ISFCI)

“STRENGTHENING FAMILY RESILLIENCE DURING COVID-19”.

INTRODUCTION

The Covid – 19 pandemic has attacked almost all countries in the world and has affected various aspects of human life, including family life. Various adjustments were made to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19, such as lockdown policies in several countries and large-scale social restriction. The pandemic, which is still ongoing today, has made many changes to human life, from daily activities such as work and study that must be done at home (work from home and school from home), to changing the activity patterns in the community. Globally, the decrease in the physical activity of the community has an impact on many sectors, including the reduction of employees in the business sector which has an impact on family welfare, especially economic welfare and has intensified the pressure faced by families.

In addition, these various adjustments also increase emotional social stress in the family, such as increased stress, decreased family income, stress on parenting due to having to accompany children while completing work, and changes in the expenditure allocation and household financial management. The pressures that the family faces, if not handled properly, will have an impact on family resilience and welfare. However, in times like these, one of the keys to being able to increase the chances of success in facing a pandemic is a family that remains strong and happy, which strengthens each other, supports one another, understands each other the various changes faced by family members.

Therefore, the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences FEMA IPB held The 3rd International Seminar on Family and Consumer Issues (ISFCI) which focuses on the theme “Strengthening Family Resilience during Covid-19”. This activity will be held virtually using the Zoom platform on October 26, 2020
